The first of ten planned courses within the scenic FLC Quang Binh development, the excellent Forest Dunes Course at FLC Quang Binh Golf Links is nestled near Dong Hoi along the captivating East Vietnam Sea coastline. The course is a golfing gem set upon a pristine canvas of pure white sands, boasting a breathtaking six-kilometer stretch of shoreline and captivating interior dunes that offer elevation changes of up to 40 meters, all framed by casuarina pines, resilient native grasses, and the subtle beauty of marsh grasses.
The entire course is meticulously designed with an emphasis on impeccable drainage, generous fairway contours, and precise transitions between fairways and rugged waste areas with sand-based delineations. The result is a visually striking panorama where the stark contrast of white sands, vibrant paspalum turf, lush dark green trees, and native vegetation is juxtaposed against the crystal-clear waters of the expansive lakes that gracefully frame the marshy borders.
The fairways are expansively wide, with some landing areas off the tees being as spacious as they are lengthy. Even slightly wayward shots can be retrieved and advanced with ease, given the forgiving nature of the playing surface. Surprisingly, the entire course is adorned with only four bunkers, with the rest of the sandy and scrubby terrain serving as waste areas.
